Regional Integrated Development Plan 2021 - The Regional Integrated Development Plan “Loreto al 2021" is key tool for the present and future of Loreto to reach the goals of ‘Loreto 2021’, in a leading, orderly and competitive Amazon region, sustained in an economy with sustained green growth on the basis of a Territorial Ordinance, ecotourism, forestry, water resources and diversified production, conserving ecosystems, making sustainable use of their natural resources and with a border infrastructure of internal connectivity and clean energy.
Regional Climate Change Strategy (ERCC) – The regional government has completed the Climate Change Strategy in 2011 through Regional Ordinance No. 009-2011. Loreto is in the process of revising it regional climate change strategy through a technical group established in 2017.The technical group brings together civil society and regional and national government authorities.
Laws and Regulations
Regional Ordinance 25/2017 - Establishes the "Technical Group of the Regional System of Environmental Management of Loreto" which is in charge of updating the proposal of the Regional System of Environmental Management of Loreto, through a regional participatory process.
Regional Ordinance 24/2017 – Established the "LORETO CLIMATE CHANGE TECHNICAL GROUP"; the same one that will be in charge of Updating the proposal of the Regional Climate Change Strategy and its Plan of Action, through a Regional Participatory Process.The group consists of 15 insitutions including regional and national government insitutions and civil society organizations.
Executive Resolution 12/2017 - Designates members of the Technical Team for the Forest Zoning process of the Loreto department, which was formalized Regional Ordinance 21/2016
Regional Ordinance 5/2017 – Establishes the organizations participating in the Technical Committee for Forestry Zoning of the Loreto Department, including 16 national, municipal, and regional institutions.
Regional Ordinance 3/2017 - Promotes and recognizes indigenous environmental monitoring and vigilence in the Loreto Region, carried out by natural or legal persons belonging to peasant, native and/or indigenous or native communities.
Regional Ordinance 12/2015 – Establishes the Regional Environment Authority of Loreto (ARA LORETO), as a line organ, dependent on the General Management of the Regional Government of Loreto.
Regional Ordinance 11/2012 - Creates the regional technical group for adaptation and mitigation to climate change in Loreto; It will be in charge of preparing a proposal for a regional strategy for adaptation and mitigation of climate change and its action plan by 2021, through a regional participatory process.
Regional Management of Economic Development: Formulates, directs, coordinates, executes, supervises and evaluates the promotion policies of the productive sectors of regional scope. The Regional Management of Economic Development has organic units that are in charge of trusted officials in the Sub-Directorates and the Regional Sectoral Directorates and are the following: Deputy Manager of Investment Promotion; Deputy Manager of Commercial Promotion; Regional Directorate of Agriculture; Regional Directorate of Energy and Mines; Regional Direction of Production; Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade, Tourism and Handicraft
Regional Directorate of Production-Loreto (DIREPRO) - The Regional Directorate of Production of Loreto is responsible for formulating, approving and supervising ] activities of fishing extraction and cultivation of hydrobiological resources in inland waters, as well as productive activities, processing and manufacturing industries both for external and internal consumption. It is responsible for matters related to promotion and development of cooperatives, micro and small businesses.
Regional Environmental Authority (ARA Loreto) - in charge of defining the policies, organize, direct, control, control, regulate and exercise functions in environmental matters, management and conservation of natural resources, promotion of environmental services and sustainable management of flora and fauna, with a territorial and ecosystem approach, within of the scope of the Department of Loreto.
The regional government has worked on the Meso zoning in Alto Amazonas (Municipal Ordinance No. 018-2015-MPA-A) and is in the process of finalizing the economic and ecological zoning (ZEE) for the entire region.
